Couple of cards

I took some fun time last night because my dh worked the midnight shift and both of my girls went to their cousins' house to spend the night. It was peaceful and I just played. Gotta love that!

This first card uses my favorite paper. Ruche!! It is the coolest textured paper ever. And, to me, it feels like fabric. I wish it came in every color of the rainbow, but am very happy that since it doesn't, it at least does have a white. That way, I can make whatever color I want. Since I love inking and painting, this works fine for me. I did find that if you heavily ink or paint this paper with a fabric paint (like Lumieres), it becomes even softer and more fabric like. I didn't paint this example, but inked it very heavily with Mica Magic ink and then went over the high areas with Distress Ink to make the texture pop. This is seriously soft paper now. Love it!! With the spring colors, I decided to use a tulip stamp for the focal image and make this a Mother's Day card.

Materials Used:
WorldWin Papers / Yellow / Ruche
WorldWin Papers / White / Ruche
WorldWin Papers / Deep Luscious Lime / Colormates
Clearsnap / Pink / Mica Magic inkpad
Ranger / Worn Lipstick / Distress Ink
Stewart Superior / India Ink Black
All Night Media / Tulip stamp / Anna Griffin
PSX / With Love stamp
LuminArte / Sunburst, Pink Azalea, Fern / Twinkling H20s
White ribbon painted with Twinkling H20s
Kokuyo / Tape N Roller PlusFiskars / Paper trimmer, scissors

Then, I decided to do something just fun. No special techniques, nothing overly fancy. I recently bought some cocktail napkins that I just adored. They have been sitting on my desk ever since and I decided to play around with one. I seperated the layers and adhered the napkin to white card. Then, when dry, I trimmed and added some random details with black and white pens. Stamped the letters and outlined with white pen. Took orange cardstock and stamped bubbles with Versamark and added highlights with white pen. Very simple, not embellished...but looks like a fun evening!! lol I think I need a girl's night out soon!!

Materials Used:
WorldWin Papers / Deep Peaches & Cream / Colormates
WorldWin Papers / Heritage White, Heritage Black / Colormates
India Ink Black / Stewart Superior
Versamark ink / Tsukineko
Bubbles stamp / Hampton Art Stamps
Handwritten Alphabet stamps / Inque Boutique
Opaque White Inkssentials Pen / Ranger
Pitt Artist Pen - Superfine Black
Cocktail Napkin

Well, that is all for now. I hope you are all having a creatively wonderful weekend!!

That pink Ruche is so eye catching! I have not used any of my pink yet!! I will have to now. :)
I adore the orange card! Love the napkin and I have so many great ones that I never use. I will have to break them out. The thing that catches my eye the most (I know I am weird but you knew that about me anyway!!) is the bubbles!! I just LOVE the bubbles!! How unique!
Hugs!
