Fellow dt member, Kim asked us to share our creatin' spaces. When she asked this yesterday, I was in the middle of a organizing frenzy. I just did the whole room back in February, but I didn't do the shelves above my desk. I decided yesterday that they were bugging me. Originally, dh has put the shelf up and then, my drawer units sat on that. I hated it because I was stacking all of my inkpads that didn't fit in the drawers and cassette case on top of the drawer units. Hated it terribly. Well, I talked him into hanging them on the wall 7 inches above that shelf. Not really gaining much space, but making it much tidier looking to me. lol!!
First, I will show you pictures of the computer end of my studio. Obviously, the computer in the corner is my girls' (and dh shares with them unless I am not on mine). Look at all the Funkeys, webkins, bebratz stuff. It is definitely for play, not work. lol
Next is my TINY studio. I have it so packed with stuff that it is crazy. I do have some room to grow still...but not much. I can't wait until we build our house and I will have a full finished basement for "our" studio. Dh wants an area in the studio for working on RC vehicle engines and building airplanes, etc. He has done that off and on, but he doesn't really have a space to do it like he wants to. Ooooops off the subject, sorry!!
Here is a full shot of my studio. Can you believe how packed it is? The saddest thing is you should see how much I have cleared out of it during my frenzy in February AND this weekend!!
The drawer units above my desk are what dh hung today. The closest green one is all inkpads, the center one is my alphabets (chipboard, metal, etc) and the furthest one is for various embellishments, tags, junk...
Here you can see the cd tower full of cases of unmounted stamps. The two iris carts hold mounted stamps. One of the white towers in the previous picture also hold mounted stamps. My paper storage shelves are way at the end and don't show up real well in this picture. They are 4 paper bins from Sam's club. They are for offices, but they work great for storing paper by colors. The large plastic bin on the floor is also paper...12x12 mostly. I so need something better, but no room right now.
More inkpads, reinkers, Lumiere paints, alcohol inks, stickles....anything that will fit. lol!!
So, this is my space. It is small and may look like chaos, but it is organized for me. I can find anything, anytime. The only place left to add storage is the ceiling and I AM trying to devise a plan for that! rotfl
Have a creatively wonderful day!!
