This next one was fun to make. I finally got a chance to use some of the Distress Crackle Paints. I have had them forever and never even tested them. I did a very thin coat of Tattered Rose for the background to get tiny little crackles. I wanted that so I could stamp on it easily. I stamped with Inque Boutique stamps and Fired Brick Distress Ink. The adorable girl is from Altered Pages. The sheet is appropriately called Adorable! I added the lace and felt it needed more. So, I used a large flourish from Debbie's Die Cuts. I inked it with Fired Brick and cut it into sections. I stamped DREAM on one part and embossed in black. Using my .60 alpha stamps again!!
Now, my final ATC of the morning was a fun one for me. I had painted one of Debbie's ATC frames with Fired Brick Crackle paint. It had an Americana feel to it. So, I decided I would use a picture of my favorite soldier...my dear husband. He looks like a baby in this picture from 22 yrs ago! I added ribbon down the side with star brads. Then, the right side looked boring. I decided to use a flag stamp I have to add some stripes...I had the stars, after all!! I stamped them repeatedly down the side and then embossed in white. I love, love, love how the crackle showed through the embossing!! They were too white, so I went over the embossing with Vintage Photo ink. I did the same thing with the words that I printed myself and the image of my Air Force man. lol Layered the photo onto an ATC and then added the frame over it. It was fun for me to finally make 'something' with this picture!
Thanks for stopping by!! I am off to make silhouettes of all of the 6th graders at my daughter's school. We are making them to hang on either side of the auditorium (with flashing lights around each one) for their graduation. We are also making stars with their hand and footprints for the center aisle. In case you can't tell, their theme for graduation is Academy Awards and we are doing a whole Hollywood theme. Will be fun!
