Thought I would share...

Some things that I have submitted over the past year that didn't ever get picked up. I have a couple things that I am resubmitting because it is holiday time again and I want to try again. I guess the reason I am telling you all of this is to let you know that many, many times stuff is not turned down because it is not good enough. It is rejected due to lack of space left in the magazine, doesn't fit the theme or just doesn't work for them at the time. This used to make me so sad and I would feel like maybe I should just throw in the towel. But, now, I do know that I AM good enough and there are people who enjoy my creations. It is not a reflection on me or my art when something doesn't get picked up by a publication. So, if you are scared to submit....don't be! If you are sad because something you submitted didn't get published....don't be! If you are afraid to try again...don't be! Put on your big girl (or boy) panties on and submit some art!!

Now, here are some things that I did a year ago and am not going to resubmit just because I haven't seen a call for them. If I do, I will remove them and submit them!!!

Here is a quick card I made for a call that was just for simple cards:
Here is a card that I really loved. I submitted this for a friendship theme call:
And another for a friendship call:
This was a call for Father's Day cards:
Here is an ornament I made for a call for holiday items other than cards:

Finally, I will share a recipe book I made using Crafty Creations bag style cards (WorldWin), This has 8 pages in it with different cookie recipes. They alternate between the two styles shown:
Okay, I guess I probably bored you enough with my stroll down memory lane. But, I love these projects and they have been sitting on my computer unseen for the past year. I thought it was time to share them with the world (or at least the world of my blog readers! lol). This just covers what I submitted in November and December of '07. I will do more posts in the future of other things that weren't picked up. It isn't going to get me down...nope, nope, nope!
Have a creatively wonderful evening!

These are wonderful and thanks for your thoughts and advice. I'm always afraid to try and haven't yet. I see you're in PA; I'm in Ephrata, PA.

Your art work is wonderful and fantastic as always and my goodness your daughters are beautiful! Do you do the hair on your 12 year old. I love it and she is gorgeous! Watch out! If you own a bat I would get rid of it. :-)
