Happy Wednesday!

Oh what a beautiful day it is here in PA! We had snow, but it is gone and the sun is shining. Sadly, tomorrow, it is supposed to start raining and then turn to snow again. I don't like snow, but I wish the weather would just do one thing and stick with it. I don't like it snowing, then warming up, then raining, then snowing....I want consistent weather!!
Anyways, enough of my rambling. lol Today on Cuttlebug Challenge they are featuring the challenge that I came up with. Embossing die cuts. Pretty boring, I thought...but then when I saw the gorgeous cards that everyone made for it, I was so happy I chose it. It just doesn't seem like I see alot of embossing on die cuts. I see alot of backgrounds and panels, but not adding texture to the actual die cuts.
Here is the card I made for the challenge:

I just adore these new bird Nestabilities from Spellbinders!!! It is kind of hard to see in the photo, but the bird's body is embossed with D'Vine Swirls. Another thing that the photograph doesn't pick up is the Kasmir cardstock that the bird is cut from and the white background is done with. This cardstock is called cotton and it is like velvet. It embosses beautifully. I absolutely LOVE this cardstock. It is so yummy!! So, while in the pic, the card looks bland, it is really very elegant in real life. Be sure to check out what every one else did with embossing die cuts!! Stunning work!

I also made a card today for my dear SIL. Her birthday was back in October and I just found out that she never received my card. Someone else is enjoying it. That made me feel so bad because I sent her a card and she thought I forgot her birthday. So, this morning, first thing, I made her a new card. I used my November sketch to create it, but I add the ribbon to the main panel rather than the strip down the side. I think it is a cute card. The image is by Heartsintouch and I painted it with Twinklink H2Os. All cardstock is by WorldWin Papers. I have added it to the sketch slideshow in my sidebar along with some more cards that people have sent. Holy cow!! I didn't expect to get such a great response. I love it!! Keep em coming!

Have a creatively wonderful day!!

Oooo...love the red birdie on the white card! I wonder if you could make a Cardinal out of one of those birds?! That would be cute too!
