The Pink Elephant Challenge #25

Hey everyone!!! Welcome back for another fun challenge at The Pink Elephant!

This week, we are doing a sketch challenge:

And we are sponsored by Joanna Sheen!!! She generously sent the dt stamps to use and she is giving the random winner of this challenge a gift certificate! How cool is that?!?!
I am also excited about this challenge because my oldest daughter, Shelby, is the guest designer this week!! She loved the one stamp I got from Joanna Sheen and asked if she could make a card with it. Lori and I thought it might be fun to have her guest design this week. So, if you get a chance, stop by and give her some love ♥. I am so proud of her. She used Prismas & Gamsol for the first time and she had so much fun blending the pencil. I love that she even added a shadow under the giraffe!! So cute!

Now, on to my card. I am not sure if I like this card or not. I love the image, but the colors came out a bit too Eastery looking for me. It is starting to grow on me though.
I colored the bunny with Prismas/Gamsol and then added yellow stickles to the flower centers. The patterned paper I used is DCWV Nana's Kids and I punched flowers from the same paper and added Stickles to the centers. Just a simple card, but those Messy Bunnies sure are cute!!!! The sentiment is from some rub ons...one of the many things that Wendy and I bought on our shopping sprees!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the dt did for this week's challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a creatively wonderful week!!!

Personal: Today is my very first day as a full time employee. It is going to take some getting used to, but I sure do love my job now. I feel much more at ease and I really like the people I work with. I will be back Wednesday with a post hopefully (that is my day off this week).

You Sparkle....

Hey everyone!! I just got the new Edward Wild Sprout from The Greeting Farm and HAD to make something with him. He is so darn cute...how could I resist? Actually, I colored him yesterday, but I glittered the heck out of him and had to wait until today when I got out of work to actually make a card with him.

I colored him with Prismas/Gamsol and then I used xmas red Stickles on his sweater, broken china Distress Stickles on his shoes and a Quickie glue pen and Martha Stewart glitter on his hair. He REALLY sparkles. lol For the sentiment, I used a rub on and wrote over it with my Quickie glue pen and added MS glitter to that too.

For the background, I inked the 'indent' side of my Sizzix embossing folder with Versamark. Ran it through the Cuttlebug and then sprinkled glitter ep on it. It is hard to see in the scan, but the debossed areas are glittery and the raised design isn't. I LOVE doing this with embossing folders. Finally, I used the MS lace doily punch to do the two black strips and assembled the card. I used some glue on the end of the sentiment strip so it would hold the bend better. I added some rhinestones and Edward is pop dotted up on the card.
Well, tomorrow is a long day for me since I am working the drive thru, so I doubt I will be around much for the rest of the week. Have a great week/weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Copics....

Okay, I FINALLY got my Copics (still waiting for the blender and some other individual Copics...not a happy online shopper right now!!). Anyways, I was able to play a bit with them last week. I colored a couple of images and took a few minutes today to actually put them on cards.
Here are a few things I have learned:
  • Copics are hard
  • Copics take LOTS of practice
  • I am much more comfortable with Prismas/Gamsol at this point
  • Copics don't streak but properly blending to get dimension takes patience
  • I will buy more Copics, but won't abandon my other coloring mediums
  • I definitely need to buy a Memento black inkpad!
  • I really like Copics! lol
Here are a couple of cards I made with the images I colored. No laughing allowed!!!

This one is for my nephew. His party is this weekend and I used his school colors.

This one uses the very first image I colored. This was a stamp that Wendy bought and I just love it. I had to stamp a BUNCH of them. lol It is a really quick and simple card, but I thought it was cute.

It's back to work for me tomorrow. I hope to get a few more cards made today and if I do, I will share them. Have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by!

Use Red, Light Blue and Dark Blue on your card/project!! Easy Peasy!

Here's my challenge card:

I used another one of those sweet Little Rascal images from I Brake For Stamps for my card. This little guy is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I embossed the back panel with the numbers collage folder and the strips are embossed with various folders to add texture. I finished it off with some white brads.

Be sure to stop by TPE this week to see what the other members of the dt did and don't forget to play along and enter the challenge too!!!

Have a great week!!!
