Candle Holder Sleeve

Okay, so I made this over the weekend. It was alot of fun to make. This month, the WorldWin Paper design team is creating artwork only using the environmentally green paper lines in shades of green. Quite a challenge, but oh so fun! This is reflect the announcement of WorldWin Papers being an environmentally green company.

My idea came because back in December, I created one of these using drink coasters in a winter theme. You can see it in this article www.ssreflections.com/robin_dec07.html I have used it all winter long in my hallway. It looks really pretty when a candle is lit in it. Well, hopefully, winter is almost over and Spring will be here. I needed a spring candle holder sleeve, didn't I?

Colormates-light grassy green, deep grassy green (WorldWin Papers)
Cuttlebug (Provocraft)
Birds & Swirls embossing folder (Provocraft)
Flower dies (Provocraft)
Palette Hybrid inkpad-Giverny Green (Stewart Superior)
Sparkles glitter glue-diamond (PSX)
Bind It All and 3/8" white wires (Zutter)
Xyron adhesive machine
Clear glass beads
Stamp (unknown)

I cut 4 panels of each shade of cardstock 4"x4". Layed one of each shade together to cut out the large flower. I seperated them and added a number to the inside corner of each so I made sure to match them back up right. Embossed just the light green panels. Ran acetate through Xyron. Layed it on the back of the light green so the sticky would be on the front. Added tiny glass beads to the sticky windows of each panel. Then, run the deep green through Xyron and attach to the back of the panel, lining up the flower cutouts. Punch each panel in the Bind It All. Add the wires so that the joining part would be to the inside of the sleeve when done. I did this by putting the panels with right sides facing each other. The final one is tricky!! lol Add glitter to the birds. Punch out random flowers and use a paintbrush handle to curl the flowers to add dimension. Glue to the sleeve randomly. Add glitter to the centers of the flowers.

This is what it looks like when a candle is lit inside. Sorry for the bad pictures. My camera is crappy. lol

**Please always remember to never use this candle sleeve without a glass votive holder inside. That is what it is intended for. This is paper and could catch fire if used without a seperate holder. Never leave a candle unnattended.**
