Chipboard Shapes Book Kit Sample

Okay, I said I would show you what else I am giving dh for Valentine's Day. This is a book kit from Debbie's Die Cuts called the chipboard shapes book kit. I absolutely LOVE this kit. It comes with 5 chipboard shapes that stagger to make a very cool book. I only used 4 shapes as is. I used the long rectangle to make an additional layer and extend the top shape a bit for binding. I will be honest and say that I decorated most of it before assembling, so I had to make an extension! lol Otherwise, the binding would have went through one of the bracket die cuts on the round page. See how I made lemonade?

I also did this book tall (rather than the intended wide version) and staggered the shapes even more. I instantly thought this would make a great "card" for dh for Valentine's Day. He will probably get a regular card also because I have made so many V cards, it is crazy!
Here is the book/card cover:I used Basic Grey's Scarlett Letter for the entire book. I think they have a romantic feel.

Here are the pages of the book/card:This is a glamor shot of dh and I from before we were married. He loves this picture, so I had to put it in the heart chipboard shape. I added a little sentiment to him on the opposite page.
These pages have our beautiful girls on them. I added some punched flowers with dew drop centers, lace and a little something about our girls being the greatest gift he has ever given me.
This final set of pages has a list of 10 things I love about my dh. On the opposite page, I have left it blank to add a family photo. This will probably make him happier than anything. I HATE having my picture taken more than anything in the world. I know what I look like and I am not happy about it. lol But, I will tell him that we can go get a family picture done to put on the last page. UGH
I just know he is going to love this so much. He was going nuts last night because I made this room off limits all evening. He usually comes in here and talks to me after he gets home from work and I wouldn't let him in. He knows I was making his something, but he has NO idea what. I love keeping him in suspense!
