St. Patty's Day

is just around the corner!! I already have my corned beef and cabbage ready to have cooking on Monday. The girls have their St. Patrick's Day shirts from Old Navy and I am in the mood for a green beer. lol Not really, I don't drink. But, dh is ready for one! We aren't Irish at all, but on March 17th, everyone is, aren't they??

I created this altered book spread to celebrate the day. Again, this is using only green cardstocks from WorldWin Papers. I had this in my head and thought about it for a very long time. How was I going to add the rainbow without using any color but green?? I drew and painted the pot and had the shape of the rainbow sketched out. I was going to paint it, but that wouldn't be very interesting. I could print it, but then, I would need to use white paper. I thought of ribbon...perfect!! I have lots of ribbon, but not the colors, widths I wanted. ARGH. Then, I spotted my fiber drawer. A messy jumble of string. It is a rainbow in itself!! lol So, that is how my rainbow was born. The gold is blobs of hot glue and then I used duo adhesive and gold leafing. This spread came out exactly like I envisioned it, only better. I hope you like it too!!
